COVERED PATIOS & PERGOLAS IN FRISCO, TX

Thirty-five minutes north. Pavilions, pergolas and outdoor living spaces for Frisco yards that were handed over with nothing in them.

LOCAL DETAIL

Frisco is new-build country, and new-build back yards have a particular problem: a slab, a fence, a patch of sod and no shade whatsoever. Whatever gets built has to create the shade itself, because there is no mature tree to work with and will not be for fifteen years.

That pushes most Frisco jobs toward a free-standing pavilion or a gabled structure over the patio rather than a pergola, which lets too much of a July afternoon straight through.

Lot sizes are tight too, so the structure has to be in proportion with the house and leave usable yard either side of it. That is a design question before it is a building one.
